The Dullness of Work

I wanted to write about how the work I’ve been doing for the past 10 years has been dull as sin.

In 2018, I gave a talk called “Creativity: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Wall.” It was about how work will never give you the satisfaction you want. That you will reach a point in your career where everything sort of stops. It’s where you are left wanting more but the only way forward is by creating that path.

It’s 2024, I have a nice role at a company and I am back at the wall with a new lesson: Modern work is where dreams go to die.

Dramatic? Yes.

Real? Yes.

Actionable? Yes.

Can you dream? If so, have fun and let your dreamworld cross into the material world.
